TJ·Aero

AI Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective 28 September 2026

We do not train AI on anything you do here.

1. Who provides the AI

Every AI feature on TJ-Aero uses Claude, a model made by Anthropic, PBC, through Anthropic’s commercial API. There is no other AI provider. A request is sent only when a feature needs it; the answer comes back and the connection ends. TJ-Aero staff can switch all AI off at any time, and the site keeps working without it.

Anthropic processes what we send on our behalf, as a service provider. Its commercial terms state that it may not use that content to train its models. It may keep it for a limited period to keep its service safe and to prevent abuse, as set out in its own privacy policy. Anthropic’s privacy policy ↗

2. What is never sent to AI

And no AI makes decisions about you. Verifying your identity, approving your account, reviewing certificates, handling reports about content, and anything to do with job applications are all done by people.

3. Every place AI is used

This is the complete list. Features that use AI say so where you use them — marked with ✨ or “AI” — so you always know when you are dealing with AI.

Features you choose to use

Ops Copilot

What is sent
Your question, the conversation so far, the TJ-Aero data relevant to it (for example an aerodrome card entry and the name of the member who contributed it) and, when you ask about an airport, the live weather and NOTAMs.
What happens
An answer with its sources. Your conversation is kept in your Copilot history until you delete it. An identical general question asked again within a week may be answered from a stored copy of an earlier answer, without calling the AI.

Maya, the help desk

What is sent
Your message, plus your name, role and account status so she can help. Maya is an AI assistant, and says so.
What happens
A reply. If Maya hands you to a person, the conversation is attached to your support ticket; otherwise it is not stored.

Draft my listing (empty sectors, aircraft for sale)

What is sent
The details you have already typed into the listing.
What happens
A draft description that uses only your facts. Nothing is saved until you edit it and submit.

Trip Feasibility — read a schedule, AI analysis

What is sent
The schedule screenshot you upload, or the trip details and the data TJ-Aero has assembled for it.
What happens
The legs read from the screenshot for you to check, or a written assessment. Decision support only.

NOTAM impact for your flight

What is sent
The public NOTAMs in force at a field or FIR during your flight window, the window and the aircraft type.
What happens
A read of what affects the flight and what can be ignored, citing NOTAM numbers. Decision support only.

Alternate Finder — AI recommendation

What is sent
The alternates TJ-Aero has ranked from its own data (runways, hours, customs, current weather) and the flight you describe.
What happens
A short recommendation that may reason only from those figures. Decision support only.

Tech-stop comparison and Trip Brief

What is sent
The comparison table or trip picture TJ-Aero has built from its own data, and the priorities you set.
What happens
A recommendation that may reason only from those figures.

Dangerous-goods research

What is sent
A description of the item you are screening. The AI may search the public web.
What happens
A cautious, sourced read. Decision support only — never acceptance.

Research a card detail with AI

What is sent
The aerodrome and the detail you picked.
What happens
A suggested value put to the community vote like any other suggestion. It never changes the card by itself.

Translate (on a post or comment)

What is sent
The text you asked to translate.
What happens
The translation, shown to you.

Automatic processing of shared aviation data

Translation to English

What is sent
Text you contribute to aviation data — aerodrome and country cards, corrections, Q&A, marketplace listings — when it is written in another language. Posts, comments, profiles and messages are never translated automatically.
What happens
The English text is stored, so every operator can read the card.

Facts from experiences

What is sent
Experiences shared by identity-verified members.
What happens
Possible card facts, each quoting the member’s own words, for TJ-Aero staff to review. Nothing reaches a card without a person approving it.

Daily language check

What is sent
Public aerodrome and country card text.
What happens
Spelling and wording fixes only. The AI is forbidden to change facts, and any edit that alters a number is rejected automatically.

Staff tools (not about members)

Research and drafting for staff

What is sent
Public information: pasted or attached AIP pages, circulars and handler briefs (a document is read once and deleted), a company’s name, an airport’s name. Some of these tools search the public web.
What happens
Proposed card details, local handler contacts marked “AI-researched, unconfirmed”, company profile details, event advisories and regulation links — for staff to review.

Aerodrome intelligence mailbox

What is sent
Emails sent to our aerodrome-intelligence address.
What happens
A draft operational note for staff to review. If you write to that address, your email is read this way.

Site health and advice

What is sent
Technical information about the site — error reports, performance and usage figures.
What happens
A diagnosis or proposal for staff. It never changes the site’s code by itself.

Interface translation

What is sent
The site’s own wording (buttons, headings).
What happens
The site in other languages. No member data is involved.
